18.01 brings us a few new amps models.
We now have the BRIT JVM OD1 RD and BRIT JVM OD2 RD, whereas before we only had the Green and Orange (GN & OR) models. A note from the “Amp & Cab Quick Reference” guide created by FAS forum member “jma” stated for previous Firmware “For Red mode, enable Boost or increase the Input Trim parameter.” But now we have full amp models of the Red mode for both OD1 and OD2.
Previously known as Cameron CH 1 and Cameron CH 2, we now have the following amps:
Cameron CCV 1A
Cameron CCV 1B
Cameron CCV 2A
Cameron CCV 2B
Cameron CCV 2C
Cameron CCV 2D
Cliff posted some details about these amp models:
2A: Bright1 switch left, Bright2 switch left, Gain Style switch left.
2B: Bright1 switch left, Bright2 switch right, Gain Style switch left.
2C: Bright1 switch left, Bright2 switch left, Gain Style switch right.
2D: Bright1 switch left, Bright2 switch right, Gain Style switch right.
Bright1 switch selects the Bright capacitor which you can alter via the Advanced menu.
The amp was modeled with the Voicing switch in the middle position. The “Dark” switch is the Negative feedback control. Set Negative Feedback to 3.6 to reproduce the switch in the middle position. Set it to 9.8 to reproduce the switch in the right position. 5.0 for left position (default).
The amp has a dozen switches and, frankly, there isn’t a lot of difference between some of the settings. The Drive switch sounds virtually identical whether left or right. I don’t like it in the middle.
Also previously known as the CA Tucana 3, we now have
CA TUCANA CLN
CA TUCANA LEAD
I’ll post more details about this as I discover them.
Amps Not G3’d Yet
Just to be complete, here is a list of the 52 amps still not G3’d. As noted before, ALL amps benefit from the new amp algorithms brought by FW18, so these amps still sound better than before (which I still can’t believe it keeps getting better!) These will be added in future firmware updates as usual.
Full List of Amps
Now that there are new amp models, I’ve created a complete list of all 212 amp models. the 160 G3’d models will be highlighted, non-G3’d are plain:
